“Sunday, June 27, 1937. Peculiar Pacific calm as can be – small swells, not a single crest visible to the horizon. Swells on a fish pond of clear blue water; slight drizzle of rain drops like pin pokes on a cushion. Fishing in afternoon along west coast island. Mr. Walsh netted a 30 lb. ulua off northern end – biggest.”
